New programs in May!

April showers bring May programs here at HTL. Sometimes we're lucky to have some new programs come our way via local organizations and presenters and in May we've got a few new ones for our patrons before the big reveal for Summer Reading in June, July, and August.

Finals are right around the corner and we're setting some space in the Meeting Rooms aside for students to use for studying. No registration is required so feel free to stop by on May 1, May 15, and May 29 from 4-6:30pm to study.

Our showing of Killers of the Flower Moon for May's Senior Movie will be pushed up to a 1pm start time due to the excessive length of the film. We will also work in a short intermission to use the restroom and stretch your legs. Registrations opens on Wednesday, April 24 @ 1pm.

We're excited to welcome a certified instructor from the League of American Bicyclists to lead a session on Bicycle Safety and Traffic Skills to children and their parents/guardians. Note this is NOT a "learn-to-ride" class and is aimed at children who can confidently ride a two-wheel bicycle already. Please bring a bicycle and a helmet. Reminder that parents/guardians must remain with their children throughout the event. Space is limited to sign up as soon as you can on April 27 @ 11am. Begins promptly at 11am.

On May 13, we're welcoming the experts from St. John Neumann Cemetery to present on Pre-Planning and Final Wishes.

After the immense interest and success of our Senior Tai-Chi program, we decided to partner up with Total Performance Physical Therapy to offer a Balance & Fall Prevention Workshop to show you some exercises and work on your balance.

Bill Reynard of Reynard Financial Coaching, LLC will be presenting on a variety of retirement-focused financial topics over the next few months with the first coming on Wednesday, May 15.

Finally: the Senior Medicare Patrol will be showing patrons how to avoid Medicare Fraud so you can save your money while remaining covered.
