Tax Help for Low-Income and Elderly Taxpayers

The AARP VITA Tax Aide program offers low-income and elderly taxpayers help in preparing and filing Federal and State personal income tax returns. They also help with Pennsylvania Property Tax/Rent Rebate forms. Most help is by appointment at libraries, senior centers and other public places. AARP VITA Tax Aide volunteers will be at the Horsham Township Library every Thursday from 10 AM to 3 PM from February 5 through April 9, 2009. Sign up for appointments at the library's check-out desk or call the library at 215-443-2609 to make an appointment. Bring the following items with you to your appointment: your Social Security number, your W-2 form (wage & tax statement), interest & dividend statements from banks & investments, statements of your Social Security income, pension, and/or IRA income, and information about deductible expenses (such as medical bills and donations to charity).
